- How do I report bugs and glitches on Epinions?
Any problems that you encounter on Epinions may be reported at this link: http://www.epinions.com/feedback/
To increase the chances of a quick fix, try to be as detailed as possible when filing a report. Also, the Epinions message boards typically have information about ongoing bugs.
- How do I sell products through Epinions?
Unless you are a merchant, Epinions is not a classifieds website and is not the place to advertise and sell your products. The majority of Epinions' income comes from advertising and referral fees. Epinions also makes money by licensing its technology and content to other websites.

Epinions ownership has changed over the years, with eBay making the most recent acquisition for a sum of $634 million in the summer of 2005. For more information on the history of Epinions, please see the Epinions Timeline.

- What is the 'Product Catalog'?
The Product Catalog refers to the entire Epinions database, which includes all of the categories and individual product listings that you see. Epinions dubbed 2005 as the "Year of the Catalog" in its planned attempt to fix the multiple bugs and glitches that had developed during the growth of Epinions' product database. Despite the effort, some parts of the product catalog are still facing major issues, and there is an ongoing effort by Epinions to alleviate these issues.
- What are Meet & Greets?
Meet and Greets are an opportunity for Epinions members to gather together in person and get to know one another. These events are often sponsored by Epinions, and provide free food and drink, along with prizes and small gifts for those in attendance. Epinions also encourages members to create their own unofficial Meet & Greets, and will typically provide a few Epinions-branded goodies for those members. If you'd like to read about previous Meet & Greets, visit the Member Advice section of the Member Center.
Official Epinions-hosted Meet & Greets are announced in the Member's Center along with an RSVP form and a thread on the Message Boards for discussing the M&G. Unofficial Meet and Greets are typically announced on the Message Boards, in the Writer's Corner or Member Advice section, or simply on the organizer's profile page.
- When does Epinions hold online chat sessions?
Epinions staff sporadically hold an hour-long online chat session to discuss a variety of issues that members are faced with. There has been discussion about having regularly scheduled chats, but the discussion is where it has ended, leaving no set amount of time between chat sessions. With the introduction of the Message Boards in late 2004, the need for regular chats has diminished.
- Where does Epinions get all of its pictures from?
Epinions gathers its product images from a variety of sources, typically from manufacturers or online retailers. In the event that you find a copyrighted picture that belongs to you and you do not wish it to be used on Epinions, contact Community Care.
- What should I know about Epinions' monthly review sweepstakes?
Epinions' monthly First Review Sweepstakes Write-Off encourages members to publish the first Very Helpful review on a product, with prizes varying from month to month. All of the information regarding the sweepstakes is posted in the Member's Center, with the winners typically being announced a few months later.
To be eligible, the review only needs to be the first Very Helpful overall review for the item, but not neccessarily the first review for the item. For legal purposes, members are only eligible if they are over the age of 18 and residing in the United States of America. For the complete set of rules, click here.
The EpiFAQ now maintains a complete* list of sweepstakes winners (as of August 2007):
